Wayne Story, MD Capita Group

"Ross designed and ran a negotiation day’s training at our annual sales conference in Paris. not only did he keep their attention, but assisted us in complex cross border negotiation."

Ross BriceA successful independent coach and trainer after 32 years with LloydsTSB, latterly in senior business leadership roles and as a national evangelist for the power of coaching to transform an organisation, even one as large as a major high street bank.

Ross is not a "theory trainer". He has delivered real results. After ten years as head of sales and management training for the whole bank he chose to test himself as a top operational director, responsible for 28 branches and 300+ staff over a twelve year period (while also leading other initiatives).

Ross achieved outstanding results as a group leader for important retail banking clusters in the competitive London area during a period of rapid change in the business model from the traditional picture we all know to the sales-led, product-rich and far more inclusive local banking model we see today.

As an acknowledged expert in how to make the business leaner and keener his methods attracted the attention of national management and the Institute of Banking. Ross has also been an innovator and programme manager for numerous national CRM, IT and new product initiatives (one of which added over £100m in bank deposits).

During his most successful period with the bank Ross became a champion for the effectiveness of coaching at all levels and one of the very first people in British business to take diversity issues seriously enough to make them pay as a business objective. His work in this area attracted press interest, some examples of which can be seen at his website Diversity Matters.

Winner of many national awards for management and sales coaching, Ross became a strategist and mentor for other coaches in the bank's network and the national pioneer for the bank’s vital initiative in the diversity arena.

In two days with Ross your people get 30 years of experience “on the fly”. He’s an ebullient person, flexible enough to perceive and deliver what participants really need, lively enough to keep them on their toes and challenging enough to push through. He aims to create what he calls a charged learning environment.

Influenced by leading lights in people development, Ross can surprise participants who are not always expecting his effortless flow of anecdotes and improvisations to be yielding tough and penetrating insights into the individual, the team and the organisation’s attitudes and shortcomings.

Events with Ross, while obviously underwritten by profound analysis and understanding or commercial requirements, tend to become exciting, creative and improvisational. So don’t bring Ross in unless you really want results.
